We meet the vulnerable populations where they are

Have you ever missed a medical appointment because you were unable to find a ride? For many vulnerable populations across the state, this is the main barrier to receiving care.

The vulnerable populations that need our help include seniors, children, individuals with a chronic illness or disability, individuals with low income, and certain geographical communities. Many of these people experience unreliable or limited access to transportation, housing instability, lack of access to primary care services, limited economic resources, high rates of uninsured, social and cultural differences such as linguistic barriers. The general term used for this problems is called social determinants of health (SDOH) and their effects are visible.

Each year, about 3.6 million people nationwide don’t obtain medical care due to lack of transportation. This barrier results in delayed or missed appointments, disruption in treatments for chronic illnesses, lack of identification in time for new diseases like cancer, and increased chance for poor health outcomes or even death. Having access to accessible, comfortable, safe, and timely transportation through companies like True to care can improve patients’ quality of life because people are having access to primary care usage and generic drugs. There is research confirming that non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) correlates with more favorable patient health outcomes.

Use this website to book a ride, empower us to remove transportation as a barrier to care for you. Our staff members will arrive to your address, help you get into the mini-van, and get you to your destination and back home or to your hotel. True to care is ready to help hospitals, clinics and community-based organizations solve their medical transportation challenges and get vulnerable and underserved populations to the care that they all deserve.

Maricopa County, Arizona, encompasses the cities of Phoenix, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Peoria, Queen Creek, Scottsdale, and Sun City, and we are serving all the vulnerable people in the area.
